Oooooooohhhh....I love my new scale! I have always wanted one and I found this one a couple of weeks ago at a garage sale for (drum roll)  $2!!!!!!

Matt hung it for me and it's just perfect in the kitchen! Only 3 more days till the next auction and more yard sales!!

Hand hewn dough bowls and an auction...

I got so lucky at the auction a few weeks ago. They had 6 of these hand hewn dough bowls up for sale! I have always wanted a large one. Let's just say that  I got one heck of a deal. Matt stained all of them for me. And of course then it was time to fill it with pumpkins and gourds, candles and foliage. I love the finished product! The other bowls are at our booth in Jeffersonville for $19.99 a piece!  I wonder what I'll  find at the auction tonight...

Porch decorating for the fall...

I placed a repurposed  dresser on our side porch and used these beautiful glass knobs in green. The yard sale mirror reflects light and gives the space a feeling of inside.

 Tiny pumpkins set inside china plates bring in that beautiful orange fall color. And a wagon full of pumpkins in a yard sale find wagon wait by the door to greet guests.

 A half table mounted to the side porch wall and a screen door propped on top (both side of the road finds) are a perfect spot to display a metal toolbox filled with fall foliage. A mason jar full of fall colors on a pewter cake stand surrounded by gourds rounds out the display.The side porch is the first place that our guests see and I love to dress it up for each season!

Even the bathroom can look great for fall!

Pumpkins and gourds and vintage~Oh MY!

I have loved decorating the house for Fall this past week. I thought that I'd start with showing you part of the family room. It's so easy to enhance pieces that you already have for fall. Tiny pumpkins and gourds are 25 cents at my local farmer's market and bigger pumpkins range from $1.50-$6.00

I also save my bittersweet each year that my father-in-law picks for me. It adds such beautiful color to any arrangement. I also love the inexpensive fabric type leaves that you can get at the dollar store. I put them everywhere! I use wreaths to hold large candle holders. It gives them more substance then on there own. I use candles in oranges and browns, Scents like warm cinnamon pumpkin and spiced nut bread fill the air of my home and I love it!! Filling your home with wonderful scents is so important. Treat yourself to a wonderful candle today. 2 of my favorite kinds are Celebrating Home and Candleberry! If you love to decorate as much as I do please let me know! I'd love to see pictures and trade ideas!!

~I love Ball/Mason Jars~

I love Ball Jars~Especially blue ones! When I saw something similar to this in Romantic Country Magazine I knew I had to make one for myself! You need one insert from an old canner and 7 canning jars to fit into the spots.Leave the lid off the middle one to put seasonal flowers in! I just love this look. It cost me $16 to make this! I hope it inspires you to make something you love...

~Fall mantle reveal~

Well-I am finely happy with my Fall mantle! It 

happened yesterday when Matt found the perfect mirror at a yard sale for $2.

It was a dark slate color that would have been lost against the stone if left that color.

So-when I woke from my afternoon nap he had painted it white and mounted it for me!

Along with our other yard sale finds I am so happy with it. I have 2 antique books next to the urn with the fall flowers that I love, The Pilgrims's Progress from 1895 and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe from 1914.

All together this mantle display cost less than $40!!(and that's including the Longaberger basket!) And it makes me smile when I walk into the living room~priceless! What does your mantle look like for fall?? Share with me!!
