~I love Ball/Mason Jars~

I love Ball Jars~Especially blue ones! When I saw something similar to this in Romantic Country Magazine I knew I had to make one for myself! You need one insert from an old canner and 7 canning jars to fit into the spots.Leave the lid off the middle one to put seasonal flowers in! I just love this look. It cost me $16 to make this! I hope it inspires you to make something you love...
Have a great night...

~Fall mantle reveal~

Well-I am finely happy with my Fall mantle! It
happened yesterday when Matt found the perfect mirror at a yard sale for $2.
It was a dark slate color that would have been lost against the stone if left that color.
So-when I woke from my afternoon nap he had painted it white and mounted it for me!

Along with our other yard sale finds I am so happy with it. I have 2 antique books next to the urn with the fall flowers that I love, The Pilgrims's Progress from 1895 and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe from 1914.
All together this mantle display cost less than $40!!(and that's including the Longaberger basket!) And it makes me smile when I walk into the living room~priceless! What does your mantle look like for fall?? Share with me!!
Enjoy the rest of  your Sunday...

Hoosier Cabinet ready for Fall...

I am so looking forward to cooler weather! So I thought I would go ahead and start decorating for Fall. (I usually wait until September 1) My husband found this Longaberger basket filled with resin apples for $1 at a yard sale last weekend! He's the best! I decided to nestle it in the doll carriage.

I added sunflowers to the basket of dried grasses and switched the fabric on the doors with muted oranges and browns. Underneath the carriage is a hooked rug with a primitive scene that I found last week for a dollar. I'll have to take a better pic!

So-get a jump start on all that decorating-I can't wait to keep posting pictures and idea for you!!

Peach Preserves...

 Hello Sunday blog readers!!
What a beautiful few days we've had here in Southern Indiana! A real relief after all those 100 degree days. Last week I made Peach Preserves and they turned out delicious. It was a little bit of work slicing and dicing all those peaches from the farmer's market but it was all worth it! We have had them not only on toast but on vanilla ice cream and in a milkshake! So-I encourage you to find your grandma's recipe and get to cooking! Enjoy the pics and this beautiful weather! School starts here tomorrow~so it's back to work for me. Have a safe and fun school year!!

It's a Sign~

I found this great sign today at a yard sale.
"He is happiest who finds peace in his home!"

I think that sums it up~don't you?

Ephemera and silver...

Happy Friday everyone!
I thought I'd share this idea that I threw together last night! I have had these pieces of ephemera scattered on this silver handled tray for awhile now. Then I had a spot on my bedroom wall that I wanted to fill. So I picked up a roll of double sided tape and attached the pieces together to stay on the tray. Then my talented handy hubby placed a plate hanger on the back and hung it up for me! It turned out great. Now I can enjoy looking at the pictures and little love notes all the time!

Share with me your ideas for using trays!!
