I was trying to take some shots of my chives flowering but our sweet dog, Nicky really wanted to be in the photo! He always wants to be the center of attention.
You can also see my lavender which I love to watch fill in over the summer! I also enjoy drying it. Of course all the herbs I grow are also used in what I cook as well!
Nicky is a Welch Corgie,Border Collie Mix that we rescued. His true mom is not me~but my wonderful daughter,Catie!

Homemade biscuits and Strawberry jam~
Just a quick post this morning! I found so many wonderful things this weekend at the auction and at local yard sales! I will post again with pics later today!
I just had to share my breakfast:
I made homemade biscuits and spread them with fresh Strawberry jam that my friend Jody gave me last week!
So delicious!
The runner that I put the plate on is a find from 2 weekends ago at a flea market for $5! I love it!!

All Bottled Up!
I took a trip to Michael's and Tuesday Morning today! Here are a few of my new goodies!
I found this bottle with ribbon, key and #4 on it for $2.99 and added the berry pick for $1.49! Love it!
And this jar (#3) is from T.M. for $3.99. I may go back tomorrow and get numbers 1 and 2! I don't know why I didn't in the first place! Isn't this little white birdie with crown adorable! On clearance for $1.29! Had a fun time!

Tea and Toile
Matt found this ottoman years ago. It was dark and covered in an awful fabric. I white washed it and covered it in the raspberry toile along with matching trim.
My Longaberger teapot, trivet and pitcher fit right in with the vignette.
I keep it out front and center not only because I love looking at it daily but also because it comes in very handy for extra seating.

Feathering our Nests
I was really excited about setting a beautiful table for Easter as well as making a wonderful meal for my family. I am more aware of how fleeting these times are that I take for granted. Catie will be leaving home for college in 3 years. I don't know that she'll be home for each holiday. So each holiday is extra special these next few years.
As we were showing my brother's girlfriend around the house for the first time Matt noticed this amazing robin's nest built into our front door wreath. He quickly snapped a pic for me because I wasn't tall enough to see inside!
So~it looks like the robin and I were both trying to make something warm, comfortable and beautiful for our families! Happy Easter Monday!

I told Matt last year that I wanted a drop leaf table. I was seeing them on pretty front porches and in antique shops and flea markets. I just loved the look of them and could just picture flowers, herbs and other pretty things on top of that table! Well~of course Matt found one for me in someone's trash a couple of months later. He never fails to amaze me by the wonderful trash he brings home! Last night he came home with a flag holder that holds little garden flags! I already have 2 but I can find room for another in the yard or landscaping!

I just love to look at this planter...
I just love this planter that Matt found alongside the road a few years ago~
I'm sure at one time it had a base.
I've planted a pink geranium (I love geraniums and of course pink is my favorite color!) with little pink and green ground cover and a trailing vine. I've also planted 4 o'clocks (seeds) that should burst through with even more color in a month or so!
You can't see it too well but their is a china plate (recently broken by my daughter~an accident) peaking out of the dirt (in 2 pieces). The china was given to my mother by her aunt for her wedding and then my mom passed it to me when I got married!
