I just love to look at this planter...

I just love this planter that Matt found alongside the road a few years ago~
I'm sure at one time it had a base.
I've planted a pink geranium (I love geraniums and of course pink is my favorite color!) with little pink and green ground cover and a trailing vine. I've also planted 4 o'clocks (seeds) that should burst through with even more color in a month or so!

You can't see it too well but their is a china plate (recently broken by my daughter~an accident) peaking out of the dirt (in 2 pieces). The china was given to my mother by her aunt for her wedding and then my mom passed it to me when I got married!

Gerbera Daisies,Hen and Chicks and Geraniums!

The kids and I planted 3 flats of annuals today! I'm going back this week for more and more and more!
Matt is cutting the grass, we've cleaned my sons room, Catie is at tennis! Whew-we have had one productive weekend!

The flowers make me so very happy! I love seeing them as I drive past the front of the house and into the driveway. The urns on the front porch are just the right punch of color to accent our red front door and bright yellow forsythia wreath!

The hen and chicks are just so fascinating to me! I've had these for years and years! They are great for filling in here and there. They love being divided and replanted! I'm planting some 4 o"clocks tomorrow and planning out my next trip to the nursery!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend like we did!

Window to the world...

When we moved the furniture around in the family room after Christmas I was left with a large blank wall! I was so excited about what I could put up there! Then my husband reminded me of a window he had found  (about 5 ft x 6 ft.). It is just perfect with it's few missing panes of glass. A bay-leaf wreath and apothecary sign from my favorite store:Sugar Maples completes the look. On the left is a postcard from 1907 showing the courthouse in St. Louis. The windows on the card light up when held up to the light-it is truly a unique piece.

Vintage suitcases and enamel buckets

I love using vintage suitcases to elevate and round out my displays.
My husband found both of these at yard sales for me. I just love my Celebrating Home Veranda Easter baskets! Especially at this time of year but I decorate them for the 4th of July and Halloween also. I have 3 Easter egg picks inside the large one and the small one is filled with pastel colored sixlets candy that compliment the eggs and the white of the baskets so nicely.

I absolutely love this enamel bucket! Another of my husbands finds! I use this year round! At Christmas time it's filled with fresh greens. And for 4th of July it's filled with red geraniums and                 firecrackers! But for Spring filled with delicate pink carnations on a glass cake plate they are such a pleasure to look at!

Have a wonderful Spring day!

Sorry I haven't been around this week! I had surgery on Monday to break up 2 kidney stones and I have had a rough time! I'm feeling better now, though!

I wanted to share these great finds from last week. I found this great candleholder for $5 at a flea market on Friday. It has great shabby chic potential. And I paired it with a darling Easter tin with glittered egg that I found at my favorite store. Sugar Maple's in Jeffersonville, IN  They have the best selection of unique finds at great prices! This is just what I need in this spot in the kitchen.

In the second photo I have my go to piece of architectural salvage! I've put a topiary duck that I picked up last year at Dee's Crafts in Louisville at 90% off. on top and then capped it off with a bell cloche. A white cake plate filled with granny smith apples and my new dinner ware! The dinnerware is from my Celebrating Home business and I just adore it! I chose the Square Dinner plates and the round salad plates for contrast. They are a nice heavy weight and every dish that I put on them looks great! I got a FREE 12 piece place setting for my family by selling the product that I love!

Well-here's to a great weekend of bargains!

Spring has sprung...

Spring is here...I hope! You never know around here. I have started decorating for Spring and Easter. Easter is my favorite season to decorate for! I just love the colors and this sweetness of it all! I will be posting Easter pics each day for quite a while so keep checking back!

*My husband found this great piece (sort of like a wooden trough) and I use it for all seasons to decorate.
